Blue Dancer Interior Photos

Dale,

Thanks for your email! Well, to tell you frankly, I just got into
sailing a few months ago (6 months) and the Thunderbird is my first sail boat. I
have practiced on a PLATU (25 Farr) for 5 months while I was renovating this
T-Bird,  and was very amazed and impressed at how the T-Bird performed
the first time I tried sailing it. She was a very solid, comfortable and
easy boat to maneuver. Not to mention, the speed it can go when properly
trimmed!!

I purchased this boat WITHOUT trying her out, from a person here in
Manila who just left it to rot in the Manila Yacht Club Marina, and it didn't
look like it was going to be worth renovating. However, considering that it
is my first time and I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg to buy a boat, I
just tried to make a go of it. Fortunately, I did! You can not imagine the
hardships related to the reconstruction and renovation, I experienced!
As you know, labor is cheap here in the Philippines, but the parts,
hardware and instrumentation must all be imported and boy did they COST!

Now that she is sailing and I have sailed her 7 times to be exact, I have no regrets! She is worth every PESO I put in and I probably would not have gotten a better boat to practice in and gain experience on.

One interesting note, I would like to share is that your web page helped
me a lot on learning about the Thunderbird. In fact, the interior of my
boat, is patterned with the interior of one of the boats shown on the web page
of Daniel Boren T-Bird #800(on web page - LINKS). I can send you pictures
of it too if you want as I am sure, other T-Bird owners my want to get some
ideas on the design and configuration of a T-Bird's interior. Just email me so
I can send them to you.

On joining, ITCA, yes, I will think it over and inform you as soon as I
have made a decision.

More power to you and your organization! Happy sailing, best regards,
